For your convenience and keeping you in the loop, we have the following news items.

Our  AGM:

At our recent AGM we elected an assistant Vice President to  help with the workload and a new secretary. Details will be posted in the near future. We would like to hear from anyone interested in joining the group.

Community Education:

In the last few years, the group is increasingly becoming involved in community education programs regarding the terrible consequences of road crashes. The teenage groups we are working with are usually Grade 10 students, teaching them about the long term issues for families and individuals affected by road trauma.

****If you would like the team to become involved with your school or youth group please give us a call.

NEWS*

A Tribute Dinner was held on Friday 4 September by members of the Road Trauma Support Team for Ms Pat Igoe on the  occasion of her retirement from the role of senior counsellor for us at the Launceston General Hospital and the Northern Region.

It was a wonderful occasion, hosted by our Patron Kerry Finch and attended by a cross section of people who have worked on the team and with the team.

Pat has been a gift to us and to countless clients providing many years of faithful  and effective service to the community in both a voluntary and paid capacity. She has been counselling for us since 1991 and is also an important member of the executive management of the service.

Thankfully she is still available for call-in work so we  are  consoled that although officially retired Pat will still be around although in a more limited way.
